By Benjamin Flowers: The Belize Tax Assistance Section (BTSD) issued a warning to individuals owing taxes to the Governing administration of Belize that their identities will be built public knowledge as early as up coming month if they are not forthcoming with payments.
The Director-Typical of the (BTSD) stated that the Tax Administration and Course of action (Amendment) Invoice, 2021 has empowered the office to publish the names of all earnings, company, and general gross sales tax defaulters in the Government Gazette, in a newspaper of typical circulation in Belize and on the Department’s site.
“In anticipation of the Bill getting law, the Section hereby encourages all tax defaulters who do not want their names to be printed to pay a visit to the Department’s nearest workplace in the month of July 2021 to make arrangements to pay back all tax arrears. In August 2021, the Section will get started to publish the names of tax defaulters and to get other affordable methods to gather tax arrears,” the department stated.
